Congratulations: Missouri DOT Diverging Interchange

Missouri must be given KUDOS for their courage to think outside the box. We have seen other efforts like this but this one finally hits home as a serious retrofittable interchange solution.

I-44/Route 13 Interchange
Reconstruction:
Diverging Diamond Design

Most interchanges resemble large paring lots with gates and once the demand exceeds capacity the excess backs up onto to the interstate, causing accidents, flow chaos and destruction of flow capacity.

This solution improves every aspect while reducing the conflict zones, while the excess demand for the surface streets does not overflow onto the interstate.

We have a solution to enhance guidance and further reduce possible confusion, day or night; nonetheless YES.

By the Numbers: Gross safety distortions go mainstream.

The Oregon Department of Transportation and State Police initiated a propaganda blitz based on invented data to garner support for Oregon’s speed laws and increased OSP staffing. Release inferred 49 percent of their highway fatalities where caused by speed in excess of the posted limit; whereas, its data shows it to be 8.5 percent if you accept their procedures, we don’t, and less than 1 percent of the state’s attributed cause for all accidents.

Speed kills more drivers in Oregon

Oregon State Police - Speed was a contributing factor to this fatal crash on U.S. 26 near Elsie on July 20.

Speeders killed more Oregonians than drunken drivers in 2008, according to a new study showing that the state far outpaces the rest of the nation when it comes to deaths caused by heavy-footed motorists. PDF version

Essential Material For Ticket Camera Activists

September 10th, 2009 Posted in Gary Biller, Red-Light Cameras, Yellow Light Duration
By Gary Biller, NMA Executive Director
The effective way to defeat red-light and speed camera initiatives in your community, or to mount effective opposition to existing installations, is to ratchet up the pressure on local politicians.  It takes a strong grassroots effort to overcome the appeal of a proven revenue generator to financially-challenged municipalities. Portland Oregon PD, an agency without oversight or a conscience, facilitated by unconstitutional state laws and kangaroo courts.

Nobody likes the speed traps that have become the norm across America. Portland PD has taken it to new levels, in this instance the PPD set up its criminal enterprise on a freeway onramp coming off of N.E. Willows, using photo enforcement based on the adjacent 25 mph limit to cite en masse those accelerating to safely enter the freeway. Why do they do this, because they can! PDF version

Starting this Labor Day weekend, help us make our roads safer by pleading Not Guilty on every citation!

Win every traffic ticket! Fight for your rights while you still have some.

Portland, OR (
eMediaWorld) September 2, 2009 - This September, fight for your rights and protect the United States Constitution by pleading "not guilty" to traffic violations.

Each year, thousands of lives are lost to poorly designed and constructed roads. AAA estimated in a 2003 study, 5,000 lives could be saved every year. The American Road and Transportation Builders Association estimated more than 20,000 lives a year could be saved simply by repairing our roadways. So why haven't we acted? Simple: our transportation policies have become focused on essentially one outcome - revenue generation.

Declaration of Liberty & Justice for All ‘We the People’ plead Not Guilty…

‘We the People’ is more than just a phrase - it's the foundation from which we derive our rules of governance-namely, that the United States shall be governed for the people, by the people. Our public servants are required to take an oath swearing to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; and bear true faith and allegiance to the same. It appears it is time to remind them about the latter.

Traffic laws, and the methods used to exercise police powers thereof have become categorically un-constitutional, and can be successfully challenged in a court of law.

PSA Most Effective

This PSA in the UK is the prefect example of an effective deterrent for young drivers on distracted driving. But the term distracted driving is such a broad category that laws against distracted driving will not only fail, they become onerous and the enforcement abuses are incompatible with a free society. Being Distracted while operating trains, busses etc should be outlawed per se but advancing computer technology interfaces and aids are also our best safety hope for the future.

Attention getting PSAs work, turning human activity into a crime against the state will fail.

NYPD: It's Gona Cost Ya!!!

IT’S GONA COST YA is the real headline, not cellphone use.

The cost will be the surrender to unwarranted stops and seizure, the risk to your life during a traffic stop and your treasure.

Saw a press release this morning where UK courts are charging people if they plead not guilty. We're not far away because we have similar things happening here, including one case in Florida where the motorists was found not guilty and the court assed the fine for court cost.

Are we lemmings? Is the press that gullible or irresponsible? Apparently so.

Is LaHood a Safety Czar, or our new Godfather?

Is LaHood a Safety Czar, or our new Godfather?

The United States Department of Transportation has become a classic example of government gone wrong. Its charter is to assure a healthy and robust transportation infrastructure that is operating safely for the common good. What it has turned into is a crime syndicate operated by, and for, special interest that depend on the USDOT’s malfeasance, misfeasance, nonfeasance and disregard for our Constitution and the rule of law. Which begs the question is the head of the USDOT a Safety Czar or a Godfather?

USDOT Distracted and Operating Under the Influence

The United States Department of Transportation has seriously compromised safety by allowing itself to be distracted while "operating under the influence" of special interest groups. This diversion from its safety charter is directly contributing to an incredible number of lives lost, injuries and financial mayhem for many millions more. PDF version

Drunk Driving Hysteria and the Neo-Prohibitionists

It’s refreshing what freedom of speech can do (blogs). MADD in its elaborate “Every 15 Minutes” hoax at El Camino High School should have began the program by also announcing it changed its name to MAD.

What the blogs can do when our press fails, is to point out the fact that MADD’s “Every 15 Minutes” program itself is also hoax. Based on false statements by all the stakeholders; CHP, NHTSA, IACP, IIHS et al and those that sponsor these programs.

Is drunk driving a grave safety problem? Absolutely! But it has devolved into another of many programs focussed on your wallet, that grossly distorts fact, with very little in return; except in this case the traumatized kids that were used as fodder for this state propaganda program.
